  • Thank you very much for both the video and reply. It is very appreciated.
But I cannot seem to get the link to work. I just see a big dark grey area taking up the whole window. :/

    hello

  • Damn, my meds… I meant to saaay there was NO CRASH OR REBOOT after i created a new HD project. Sooooo, it must have been project related.

    hello

  • I’ve heavily medicated right, but I don’t write this now I’ll forget…..
I have since found out that it project related. I just created a new HD project and set it for 96hz, 24bit Best and there was crash or reboot.

    thanks guys

    hello

  • Yeah it is weird. No the audio driver hasn’t been updated since installing the card last year. Hm?

    hello

  • This is what I thought, too, Tom. But it only occurs with version 11 build 595 & 594. This never happened with the 520 builds. I still have version 10 still on my PC, and it doesn’t occur.

Once I finish rendering this DVD menu project, I’m going to downgrade to the 52x builds. I really do not recall this happening with those builds.

    I follow up..

    hello

  • Corrections: I have discovered it only effects the altering of the sampling rate option. I have been able to change the bit rate and sample quality without a crash/reboot. The system reboot only occurs when I change the sampling rate, currently set to 48Hz.

    Any ideas?

    hello

  • This occurs with the 16bit version as well. I am going to downgrade back to 520/521 until I get a response for a solution to this.

    hello

  • I think it’s great having both. If you setup RED as a Template interface with the Library browser, then in this way you won’t leave the NLE, so to speak. I’m editing a project right now that’s using them both. With BCC I can add 3D text from within the NLE (as you may already know); but RED allows you to use the Text Styles Library Browser that’s not offered in BCC, and then change them to 3D extruded text. Pluuuus, a bunch of other stuff.

I wish BCC transitions were as varied as RED, but then why RED has so many if you don’t want to create your own from the few that BCC has. Plus, using the RED timeline for creating custom effects with the redundant filters/effects is easier then using the built-in timeline in Vegas Pro. I actually like that flexibility, cause you can’t save animation/key frame data from the NLE timeline into a separate BCC or RED filter/effect and edit it later in RED.

It would be great if I could use BLUE as a plugin, too, for Vegas Pro.

Thanks. It seems what you’ve told me was what I had pretty much figured out, but wanted an official answer. In fact, (heh heh eheh), I actually passed up ProAnimator in favor of RED, because I assumed it to be a mere 3D text animator: well having played with the new PA5 demo I was wrong: ProAnimator is a pretty sweet package. It seems to be that RED/BLUE crossover product.

But I still love BLUE, but the hosting issues aside, I agree with you Peter, RED & BCC deserve more development focus in the current term. BUT, it would be great if RED did inherit BLUE’s 3D & GPU Real-time rendering features (hint, hint).

    hello
