    Anyone got any ideas?

Just some kind of auto-flow text handling would be good – the rest I can do in Excel…

    Thanks.

I have a smallHD monitor and can highly recommend it! The service and support is excellent too.

In fact, I’m thinking of getting a second one for client viewing.

    Good tutorial.

A question though – for general DVD use in set top DVD players – I have some 1080p25 video that I want to edit and convert to DVD using Encore.

Jeff’s tutorial talked about outputting 1080p30 as progressive NTSC.

Can and should it be interlaced in Premiere by using the interlace consecutive frames field options?

    How would that look?

Will all old DVD players play PAL 25p footage OK?

    Thanks,

    Paul.

Mmmm, the newer top end Xeon’s (W5590) are very tempting – but very expensive. Which model CPU did you go for in those workstations?

  • Just to add my experiences:

The 4.1 and 4.2 beta Matrox AXIO drivers have serious problems with XDCAM EX files – they import all with 00:00:00:00 timecode. What’s even more frustrating is that it breaks timecode for ADOBE sequences as well. In my case the only solution was to uninstall the Matrox drivers!

I reported this some time ago to Matrox and was expecting the 4.2 beta drivers would fix it – but the issue doesn’t seem to have been addressed at all!

I work a lot with Camtasia footage for training videos etc. I always use the .AVI native format as I’ve had lots of problems with transcoding to other formats in the past – transcoding to Microsoft WMV using the screen codec is another option but I have had colour issues when doing this before.

I know you said MP4’s were chosen for portability but I really would stick to AVI and the techsmith codec if at all possible.

    Paul.
