Are you running FCP 6? If so, head up to the FCP Menu:

Modify/Audio/Apply Normalization Gain

Also, you may want to consider a loudness maximizer as opposed to basic Peak Normalization. Final Plug 5 is an AU Plugin that works really well.

Simply decrease the Threshold setting, set a Ceiling [typically -0.1dB] and fire away. This will result in an increase in average loudness. Much more efficient. Use it sparingly though. Aggressive processing can potentially destroy the dynamic range of your segment.

My mistake. I am reffering to using the IO as a stand alone Core audio compliant IO interface. Are you statiing this has been available all along?

I compose all the music I use on my broadcast using Soundtrack Pro with the included loops and samples. Thanks for the compliment. I use Ozone and various other plugins for mastering.

I contacted AJA. I mentioned my IO/LA does not show up in hardware capture preferences in Motu’s Digital Performer software. According to Motu, the software will recognize any Core Audio compliant device.

Aja informed me that Apple has not made the IO line Core audio compliant. It would be fantastic if this was the case. Does anyone know if this will change?
