    Donato,

It’s possible they may be looking for the delivery movie to be H.264 with the MPEG-4 wrapper or file extension. In fact I’m guessing the reason is they need this format for Flash Player compatibility.

You’ll need to use Quicktime Pro (or Episode Pro) to handle this.

    In QT pro:

    File/Export … Export/Movie to MPEG-4.

Now click the Options button …

    File Format: MP4

    Video Format: H.264

Also, you can go into Video Options and select Main or Baseline profile.

Set frame rate and aspect ratio.

The encoded movie will be H.264 with the .mp4 file extension.

… and let me expand on this:

Try capturing your screen activity (if possible) at 1920×1080. Import the footage into a 720p (1280×720) sequence. This will give you a bit of head room to perform zooms on specific areas of the footage without loosing image quality.

Output to 1280×720. You will be happy with the results.

    Kyrsten,

    I recommend Screenium.

    https://www.synium.de/products/screenium/index.html

Set it up to capture using the Apple Intermediate codec @ 30 fps. Then output using the same codec and settings. This will yield files running at 30 fps that can be edited in Final Cut. Make sure you configure your FCP project sequence accordingly.

    It works well.

    Jan is correct,

    Here is the deal:

If you Send to “Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project” the clips open in the STP File Editor. When you save the work, the changes will update in the FCP timeline.

If you Send to “Soundtrack Pro Multitrack Project” you must export your work (File Menu/Export) and select: After Export – “Send files to FCP Sequence” in the popUp at the bottom of the Export Dialog box.

You should be all set …

Have a look at this tutorial movie:

Also, I would recommend MR Noise by Wave Arts. It’s an excellent tool for broadband noise reduction.

Either way as noted handling noise reduction in Soundtrack Pro is your best bet.

July 6, 2009 at 2:26 pm in reply to: FCP Markers to podcast

    John is correct.

Display the Podcast Track in STP (upper right popup menu located in the multi-track workspace). When you select this track the Podcast Marker input data fields appear in the Details tab. Easiest way to add a marker to the selected track is … ⇧ ⌘ M …, that’s shift+command+M.

Remember there is a difference between an Enhanced Podcast, which is an audio file (AAC, MPEG-4 wrapper, .m4a file extension) and a QT movie with chapter markers. The audio .m4a supports reference stills and hyperlinks. If you are exporting a video file, the “Podcast Markers” appear a standard Chapter Markers.

Make sure you export properly – File Type: AAC/Podcast File. You can set the format to include the audio only “enhanced images” or a video track.

I think Scott is referring to the average loudness, or RMS, yes?

If so, I use Bias Peak Pro for precise analysis..

    Kelly,

It looks like your sequence settings are off. The HMC 150 shoots 1920×1080 (or 1280×720).

Depending on your Log and Transfer settings your clips will be transcoded to to ProRes (or to the Apple Intermediate Codec).

I purchased mine a week ago from G&G in NJ. Had it the next day. I have no affiliation … I’m just a satisfied customer.
