Has anyone had experience in creating a video screen capture to be edited in Final Cut? I have a client who wants to do that, but is using Adobe Captivate, which doesn’t have MAC version available. Is there any software out there that will create FCP compatible files so I can add a voice over and make a few minor edits?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Kyrsten,

    I recommend Screenium.

Set it up to capture using the Apple Intermediate codec @ 30 fps. Then output using the same codec and settings. This will yield files running at 30 fps that can be edited in Final Cut. Make sure you configure your FCP project sequence accordingly.

    It works well.

… and let me expand on this:

Try capturing your screen activity (if possible) at 1920×1080. Import the footage into a 720p (1280×720) sequence. This will give you a bit of head room to perform zooms on specific areas of the footage without loosing image quality.

Output to 1280×720. You will be happy with the results.
