Unless you’re having anomalies with the rendered picture and have the idea that the render files might be corrupted – then I don’t see a need for trashing your render files on the timeline. You are more than welcome to however. And in answer to your question on if there’s a way to do that – yeah it is easy. Just go to Tools > Render Manager and check the boxes in the Remove column for the sequences that you want to delete the render files from.

Is there also no tabs for Audio tracks 1 and 2 in the viewer when you match frame?

Are you going into the nested sequence to match the frame or using match frame directly from the sequence with the nest inside it?

Why don’t you give rarely used Match Frame Source File command a try? It’s OPT+CMD+F – you can get to it by View > Match Frame > Source File. That should open the source media directly in the viewer and not the master clip. Not sure if this will work in a nest but it’s worth a shot.

Yeah – really. I duplicated tracks for a long time (when I was too lazy to go to soundtrack) before I was tipped off about the AUDynamics filter.

This was posted pretty recently on here – but I’ll repeat it:

1. Drag all your files from the browser into the timeline.
2. Apply the Effects > Perspective > Rotate filter to the first clip. Open that clip in the viewer and change the rotate param to 180 degrees.
3. Copy the first clip.
4. Select all the other clips on the timeline and Paste Attributes (OPT+V).
5. Select Filters checkbox.
6. Select all the clips on the timeline and drag them back into the browser. These clips are now rotated.

If it’s squeezed then you should use one of the DV anamorphic settings – either 29.97 or 23.98 depending on the frame rate you shot at.

And if you ever capture DV footage without setting the capture preset to anamorphic – you can always “de-squeeze” it in Final Cut after the fact by setting the anamorphic checkbox when you right click on media and go to Item Properties > Format.

There is a way to do this in FC 5.1.4.

Apply the AUDynamicsProcessor filter in Audio Filters > Apple. There is a master gain setting on that filter. Just raise it up as high as you need to.

Add a de-interlace filter or flicker filter to the clip and that should take care of it.
