November 15, 2007 at 8:01 pmIf it’s squeezed then you should use one of the DV anamorphic settings – either 29.97 or 23.98 depending on the frame rate you shot at.
And if you ever capture DV footage without setting the capture preset to anamorphic – you can always “de-squeeze” it in Final Cut after the fact by setting the anamorphic checkbox when you right click on media and go to Item Properties > Format.

November 15, 2007 at 8:04 pmOne option is just to digitize it and then when you’re done change the clips to anamorphic by checking the box in the anamorphic column in the browser.
If you need to remove the 24PA pulldown while digitizing, then to flag the footage as anamorphic you’ll need to open up the Audio/Video Settings and duplicate the setting you need under capture presets, then select edit and check the Anamorphic 16:9 box. (rename the setting to have 16:9 in it so you can use it in the future.)
