    Thanks for the info.
Do you have a link for the high resolution NASA images?
I have tried to Google without success.

Besides not being able to get that link to work on the Sony site – it enters an infinite loop, the site states that the driver is no good for any macbook pro purchased after October 2008.
It states there will be a new driver issued in December 2008 but I cannot find that driver – has it bee issued?

I am having exactly the same problem in 6.05 and again using a top end Powermac.

I am currently setting up another PowerMac to see if it also happens on a totally new installation.

That is what I did before I posted here and I cannot get it to work.

I ended up making a quicktime movie of the three clips joined together and then just rendering them in the timeline.

So I still need to know where I am going wrong – I laid out my steps in the opening post.

  • Well it has arrived and been plugged in.
I was pitting through 1018 25p from EX1 footage – it looks superb – the ebst I have seen but I do not have anything else alongside it.

  • Well its actually gone up to about $5,500 and my unit arrives here today!
I am buying from a reputable dealer though so if it not right – it goes back.
I have only read good things about this monitor though,

  • Well here in the UK the JVC DT-V24L1D version has just gone up in price and with tax now costs almost $5000.

Walter – you are not talking about this version when commenting on poor picture quality are you?

I am also considering a new MacBook 17 inch hi-res screen but cannot decide on if i should get the glossy option or not?

I will use the Macbook for location downloading from EX1 onto internal hard drives, external hard drives and if away a long time onto Blue Ray discs. When away a long time (I can be away from my studio for weeks), I will also do some basic editing on the laptop – so glossy or not?
