I hear ya … no shortcut that I could find to replace a media event in the trimmer with the “next” one in sequence.
Two other ways .. Drag your media into the open trimmer window. It will replace the media that is currently in there. You can drag the media from the project window or the explorer window. Could be the fastest way.
Or .. (from Vegas help) You can automatically load a file into the Trimmer window by selecting the Double-click on media file loads into Trimmer instead of tracks check box on the General tab in the Preferences dialog. When this check box is selected, no events are created when you double-click a media file in the Vegas Pro Explorer, Media Manager, or Project Media window. Instead, the Trimmer is displayed to allow you to choose the portion of the file you want to use.
The last suggestion might be the best but I have not tried them.

No short cut that I know about.
But you can right click on media in the project media or the explorer window and use “open in trimmer” to load the media into the trimmer (without closing the trimmer) and the media in the trimmer will be replaced.

Great. Thanks for following up and letting the forum know what happened.
I’ve never used the Displacement Map myself, but, I see, it can do some nice effects if you understand it. Compositing is one of the most powerful parts of Vegas.

It appears what ever you are downloading has multiple audio tracks. Generally this is done on DVD’s to accommodate extra tracks for “commentary” or foreign languages.
I don’t believe there is any setting or configuration of Vegas that would do this to turn a normal single audio track into six.

Likely you have “ignore event grouping” on. Turn it off.

Is it the entire timeline that renders this way?
Can you reproduce the problem by creating a new project using some of the same media, the same project properties and the same render template?
In other words, try to narrow down the problem. Is it the render template? Or some cropping of the media?

Can you start a new Vegas project without the problem occurring? In other words, is it something just to do with one project or is this happening on all projects?

Looks like “track motion” on your video tracks 2 & 3 .. Check Vegas help under Track Motion.

Is your source media from a DVD? .. If not, how was the source media generated?
