Sounds like the file you added is the culprit. You’ll need the right codec to decode that file. If you use something like “Mediainfo” it will tell you the codec you need.

Sorry. I didn’t realize the vertical drop video was private. I fixed that.
Do your pops sound the same as the ones in my video? Your problem seems to be related to envelope points. I wanted to see if the “pop” you get has a similar sound.
Over the years, other people have reported “popping” sounds on the Vegas timeline .. many different reasons or no reason at all were found .. mostly, I think, they were unique to a particular system and like your problem, the “pops” cannot be reproduced on other systems. You could google “sony vegas popping sound” and see what comes up.

Way back in Vegas 9.0, I saw a problem with audio “pops”. The problem occurred when you did envelope points that were vertical drops. But that problem (as far as I know) does not exist in Vegas 12.
Do the “pops” you are getting sound anything like they did with the Vertical Drop problem in Vegas 9.0?
I cannot reproduce your problem. Are you able to reproduce the problem easily or is it more a random thing?

Can you send a screen shot? I don’t know what you mean by the blue square for volume changes? .. Are these volume envelope points ?

I don’t think Vegas will record system audio. Once upon a time it did but I think that ended with Version 8. At least my system won’t do it.

If I understand what you are doing, seems like you are doing things as easily as they can be done. I don’t think NewBlue is needed but it would give you a chance to learn it and see how you like it.
Remember you can copy and paste events. That includes text events. You can also save presets using Titles and Text. Those things might speed things up as far as formatting your text “lyrics”.

From Vegas help:
Right-click the track header and choose Expand Track Layers to expand a video track to reveal three subtracks within the main track: the A roll, B roll, and transition roll. In this view, sequential clips alternate between the A and B rolls, and the overlapping area between events is represented by the transition roll.
Choose the command again to collapse the track layers.

iZotope RX is the way to go. For starters, RX Elements .. I think it’s $99 .. Works beautifully with Vegas.

I don’t know what is optimal .. I use an SSD for my main drive .. All my programs go on the main drive with all data files and video editing files on storage drives. I use Western Digital Black Caviar 7200 rpm drives for Vegas editing. Most of my source material is 1080p ..
I think the main thing with Vegas is always CPU power. Get the fastest you can afford. The rest is still not as important.
