This is weird Roger. Are you saying this happens just “Sometimes when I put events on the timeline ” ? … I’m assuming that this happens with just certain media? ..
I can’t reproduce this unless my media is not coming from my camera and is therefore not grouped automatically.

October 2, 2017 at 4:45 pm in reply to: Is there a way to turn off, “lock” switch on multiple clips all at the same time?I have rarely used “lock” — so first, I suggest you try to discover why events are being moved out of place. The culprit generally has to do with “auto ripple”. Understanding completely the various settings for “ripple” and “groups” generally solves this problem of events moving unexpectedly or without you noticing.
Another suggestion to avoid this problem is to work in smaller sections. I find 5 minute sections for complicated timelines is a good way to avoid many problems.
But if lock works best for you — I think lock can be applied to multiple events by selecting multiple events and then applying the lock. This requires you know how to select multiple events with shift or ctrl. Therefore you can “unlock” multiple events by selecting them and unlocking. If you have a complex timeline and forget which events are locked, you can unlock everything at once. Simply Select ALL (Ctrl-A) and unlock.
As I said I don’t user lock so I have only tried this once. Simply select all the events you wish to lock and apply the lock. Do the reverse for unlock. This assumes you understand how to quickly select multiple events on a timeline.

Well .. I suppose I’d be able to use it as a tablet too as Vegas can handle that .. but I’m an old guy and change comes hard upon us old guys. This is not to say I’d want to go back to glue splices and gang syncs ..
From everything I’ve heard, the Surface Pro is the way forward for lightweight traveling machines. It has a USB port and everything !

This problem has been seen before. I believe it relates to your video card drivers or windows screen settings.
Are you using the latest or best drivers for your video card?
Here’s a thread that discusses this problem:

July 6, 2017 at 11:31 pm in reply to: Is it possible to change the frame rate of every single clip on the timeline to be just one specific frame rate?Set your project properties for 29.97 and let it fly. I think the 59.94 should work ok with a 29.97 frame rate.
Render out a section at 29.97 fps that has both types of footage and see how it looks. Normal motion? Then you are ok. It’s how it looks rendered that counts for me. -

July 5, 2017 at 11:26 pm in reply to: Weird issue: Sony vegas preview freezing after split.I suspect your screen capture software is creating files that Vegas does not like and this might be the problem .. otherwise, I have never seen where splitting an event causes Vegas to freeze.
I use Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 for Screen capture and the files are fine in Vegas. But I don’t do much screen capture.
Start a thread on best screen capture software for editing with Vegas. Might get some suggestions.
