From Vegas help: ” .. Click and drag along the marker bar, CD layout bar, time ruler, or a blank area of the timeline to select a time range. All events — and portions of events — within the region are highlighted. “

This should not happen with Titles and Text .. one possible is your video drivers. I’d check with NVIDA for the latest drivers — or seek help on this forum for your graphic card — try to find out which driver people are using with your video card and Win 10 with Vegas 15. I suspect the drivers are causing your problem.

From “Vegas Help” on how to speed things up or slow things down:
Velocity envelopes are used to change the speed of a video event over time. For example, you could use a velocity envelope to play a clip in slow motion.
Each video event in your project has a specific duration that is not changed by velocity envelopes. Therefore, if you decrease the speed of a ten-second video event by 50%, only five seconds of video will be shown. On the other hand, if the speed is increased 200%, the ten seconds of video will play in only five seconds. The remaining five seconds of the event will be filled either with a freeze of the last frame or with ten additional seconds of video content from the media file.
Right-click a video event, choose Insert/Remove Envelope from the shortcut menu, and then choose Velocity from the submenu. A velocity envelope is drawn on the event.
Drag the envelope up to increase the playback speed of the event, or drag down to decrease its speed.
Tips:
Right-click an envelope point and choose a command from the shortcut menu to choose from velocity presets from 100% reverse-speed playback to 0% playback (a freeze-frame effect) up to 300% (triple-speed) playback.
Setting a velocity envelope to a negative value will cause the event to play in reverse. Video events can only be reversed if there is media to reverse: an event cannot be reversed past the beginning of a media file. An event that has been reversed will play backward until it gets to the first frame and will then hold that frame for the duration of the event.

>> if I fast forward the render is not smooth at all (jerks). I fast forward using CTRL+Left button Mouse. (Preview lags too, but I don’t mind)
I’m confused. Are you saying you “fast forward” using CTRL+Left Mouse and then when you render the timeline the playback of the rendered file is not smooth? Using CTRL+Left Mouse to speedup the timeline preview should not have any impact on rendering. Are you saying it does? Or am I missing something?

This is weird .. If you start a new Vegas 13 project, do you get the same behavior? Or is this just happening on one particular Vegas Project? — OR — is this happening on one specific FX — which FX are you applying?

>> if I fast forward the render is not smooth at all (jerks).
I think you meant to say the “preview” is not smooth .. The reason may be your system .. smooth preview is dependent on numerous factors .. search “preview lag” or “preview problem” ..

If I understand you correctly you have two video tracks that are synced, meaning they were shot at the same time. For example, a multi camera setup with different angles. Usually we think of this as two video tracks synced to the same audio. Of course you may “sync” two video tracks that were not shot at the same time too.
It seems you want to render each of the these video tracks which are presently on the same timeline. You could render them one at a time (as you said) .. but you wish to save time by rendering them at the same time, getting two rendered files in the end.
The only way I know to do this is to use two instances of Vegas. Render video track #1 in one instance and at the same time you can be rendering video track #2 in the second instances of Vegas.
Will this save time? Maybe? Maybe not. I believe that will depend on the media, your system etc. etc. But it will happen at the same time which does make it an “unattended” operation.

Some research reveals that this problem has been seen before. It might be a function of your media (or mixed media on the same timeline) or even your system … search on “range of clips become ungrouped” .. Within this thread there is a script that will regroup everything quickly and easily.
