First option – try using a shape instead of a selection fill. The shape tool is toward the bottom of your toolbar. There is one called the Ellipse Tool.
Second option – feather your selection before you fill in the color. Just 1-3 pixels should be enough.

I don’t have DVD Studio Pro (DSP), but I suspect it does not support vector graphics (your shape) and is converting it to a bitmap and creating jaggies. Here are some ideas in no particular order:
– Don’t copy/paste. Try importing the oval as a file in DSP. If it recognizes .psd files, then it may work. If not, then try saving the file as TIFF (or some other format DSP supports).
– Rasterize your oval in PS then copy/paste.
– Use a blur filter on the oval in PS (probably need to rasterize first). Ideally, your background is transparent, and DSP recognizes alpha channels. If trying to import as above, make sure that if you save it as TIFF to include the transparent/alpha channel.

If you run your DVD on a computer, do the links work with a mouse? Do the links work if you use the virtual navigation buttons?
If you run your DVD on a DVD player, do the links work with the navigation buttons?
Just trying to understand the issue a bit more.

Thanks John. You know misery loves company. Please look at the link I provided at the top. In that thread I tried to determine why it would sometimes work and sometimes fail. I couldn’t find an obvious pattern.

I am using the Dynamic Link feature (CS4). By making a separate WAV file and bringing it in as an asset, I was able to complete my project. Still a little peeved about the time I wasted trying to get it working properly, though.

Really weird. I played around a bit. If I create a new sequence in PPro and insert a short clip (~90 seconds), it works in Encore (i.e. I have it loaded through ‘Adobe Dynamic Link->Import PPro Sequence’). I can hear audio if I watch it through the monitor or in the quick preview area at the top of the Project tab.
However, if I add another clip to the sequence, the audio stops in Encore. Remove that clip and the audio starts again.
I also played with a longer clip (about 6 minutes) in the PPro sequence and it did not have audio in Encore. However, if I shortened the clip to about 30 seconds, the audio started working again in Encore. I tried to determine a minimum time for audio, but as I played with it, the audio eventually stopped no matter how long the clip was.‘Solution’: I exported the audio in Premiere as a WAV file (apparently the .aac file is not usable by Encore). Then brought that WAV file in as the audio track for my Encore file. This basically stops the whole ‘dynamic link’ benefit.

FWIW, I’m having the same problem. It just started, as it was working earlier today. I did move some clips around in the PPro clip before hand, but audio layers are still active. No amount of resetting (the clip and the system) has allowed this to start working again. Will try some other tricks tomorrow, but I have to give it a rest. As you state, other clips within the same PPro document are working. Hmmm, I also ‘cleared’ some timelines in PPro (hit the x’s in the tabs). Nope. Maybe if I nest it within another comp. Nope.

Well, you shouldn’t have to do this, but what about creating a timeline that is a bit bigger than your needs. Put your clips centered and at the normal resolution (but they will not be touching an edge) and do all of your work and transitions here.
Next create another timeline with your typical resolution and nest the first one inside.What a pain, but it may work.

Does the colored edge follow the clip or the frame? In other words, what happens if you grow the clips to 200%? Is the colored edge still seen, or has it been moved outside of the picture frame?
