Maybe try the sequence again with the AVCHD1080i25 (50i) preset. Since that is what you captured, your jerkiness may be caused by PPro trying to remove the interlace.

The link is not working for me. Looks like a partial paste.

Your problem is too broad, please help narrow it down.

Have you seen this work on other projects?
If so, what is unique about this one?
Or, are you a new user to the software and need basic guidance?
Are you following a tutorial? Which one?
All of the effects (including scale) or just particular ones?

  • Curious – why post an AE question in a Premiere forum?

Here is a link I saw in an earlier thread on pasting faces. It is more advanced but it shows how to do some spot-on motion tracking, which is what you need. They put the faces of Pistol Youth on the Golden Girls.

The pictures are not showing up.

Load both files into Encore. What does the ‘info’ in the project tab say about each of the files when you click on them? It should tell you the resolution, so make sure they have the same res. Next, right click on each asset and choose ‘Interpret Footage…’. It will show you the PAR of the asset. Make sure they match.

I have to do this and used a tutorial found in the Cow. Here is a link that gives a brief summary of the technique:

I think it is your monitor. I didn’t see any obvious graying next to your black square.

Yep – it is behaving as I have seen it in the past. Not sure if it is a DVD or an Encore limitation, but the subpictures, while not selectable, are visible during the intro before the loop point. The typical way around this, and it does allow for prettier buttons, is to have the buttons embedded into your background video, and then use the ‘selected subpicture highlight’ feature to highlight the buttons in your video.

Many tutorials available on how to do this.

Unfortunately, what you are looking for has no single nor quick solution (assuming you want quality results). There are many ways to achieve this, so that is why you see different techniques. You could use QuickMask, or Select->Color Range, or use different channels, or third party apps such as KnockOut, or Image->Extract, or…

There are plenty of tutorials out there, just find the one that best fits your image (since many of the techniques are useful for certain types of extraction) and also make sure they are for the version of PS you have (or close to it) since some techniques are now outdated.

Silly me. I didn’t read far enough down the options list it seems. I thought it would be part of the menu choices. Thanks a lot – I was afraid I was missing something obvious.
