I downloaded the codec from the avid website, but it is still not working… I downloaded all of themand put them into the QT library, still not working. restarting didn’t help…

I am sitting on an avid right now and exporting the QT with DVC PRO NTSC format…then I take it home and look at it from my mac.
yes downloading the codec sounds more reasonable. hope I don’t have to pay!

Thanks, yes, the “fit to window” (hm hm) was the problem, but mixing down is a very good idea too, since I am doing a lot of exporting…
Can you undo a Mixdown? Should I keep all the tracks and just play back the mixdown track?

I can open the files (Video and Audio) in Quicktime, I am not sure where they came from, Mac for sure, but probably FC Express 4.5 or 5. Will find out exactly tomorrow (it is late). Am I really tired or is there really no info on the codec in “get info”?

I wasn’t going to upgrade but an other editor is going to finish the project and he has FCP 5. I will make sure that he downgrades before I hand him over the project… Thanks for the help.

thanks bill for the rendering answer.
    i have a G4 powerPC, 1.67 Ghz, 1 Gb DDR SDRAM.
sometimes i edited by having a huge sequence in the source window and cutting from there. (i am making a promotrailer from adocumentary roughcut.) i didn’t always match back to the clip before cutting into my timeline, might this be the problem?
can i use a timeline as a source?
