This is not really a FCP question, but since there isn’t a QT forum, I’ll post it here…
    I have a G4 Laptop, Quicktime Version 7.0.1 (pro).
I recieved a QT file and I just need to look at it, don’t need to import it into FCP. When I open it there is no picture. Just White.
The format of that QT is avid DV Codec. (It was done from an Avid running on a PC).
When I try to export the file, it tells me that I am not authorized to do so.
I need to look at this file!!!
Will upgrading Quicktime help? If I upgrade QT will I run into problems with my project that is in FCP 4.5?
Can’t wait to get some answers…

You need to download the Avid quicktime codecs from avid.com.

I am sitting on an avid right now and exporting the QT with DVC PRO NTSC format…then I take it home and look at it from my mac.
yes downloading the codec sounds more reasonable. hope I don’t have to pay!

I downloaded the codec from the avid website, but it is still not working… I downloaded all of themand put them into the QT library, still not working. restarting didn’t help…
