    Try WordPress.com (not wordpress.org)

WordPress.com has free levels and you start with a theme (template) that gives you a full basic site (home page, blog pages, “about” page, etc. Plenty to do what you want, and you will be using WordPress, easy to use if you can master After Effects. Better than starting with Wix or something that locks you in to a proprietary environment.

I stumbled upon this thread after I bought a PMW-200 and decided to update my old copy of XDCam for Log and Transfer. I then had the same problem with all the audio playing chipmunk style at the beginning of the clip, which then finished playing silently.

It occurred to me that I should close and re-open Final Cut 7 so the new plug-in could be detected by the program. Worked.

June 21, 2011 at 8:25 pm in reply to: Older Mac Pros/graphics cards

I got the 5770 because it was the only card I could buy that had a chance of working on my Mac. I was worried about my old ATI Radeon X1900 XT dying and leaving me with a dead machine. I read somewhere that my setup will only work with the DVI output, which is what I use.

I didn’t notice any difference with the new card in Final Cut, Compressor, or Photoshop–no problems, but no faster. I rarely do stuff that would require a lot of rendering.

Here’s some tests with the ATI cards in first generation Mac Pros: https://barefeats.com/wst10g5.html

It does bother me that within 3 years after buying this expensive workstation, it was unsupported by the manufacturer as far as replacing the graphics card.

March 8, 2009 at 8:22 am in reply to: Building List of Used Media Stalled

I know this is way late but I wanted to put some kind of an answer here. I had this problem and found this and another older post, which encouraged me to give the process some time.

My two hour project with dozens of effects and renders and transitions took about 35 minutes to build the list, but it did happen. It was seemingly stalled at 8% for the first 10 minutes or so, then it took off.

I fired up SMC Fan Control to keep the machine cooler while it was working. It does seem to be slower if you are sitting there watching it….

April 30, 2006 at 12:46 am in reply to: Problem with Sorenson or AVID?

    If I remember correctly, the
“cannot find the “” file sequence.”
was because your version of Quicktime is too new. Sorenson won’t install or work with anything newer than about Quicktime 6.5.1

They may have fixed this, but that was the story in November, 2005
