You really should try Disc Warrior, it has fixed problems just like yours for me many times over the years.

More details would help.
Was there florescent light in shoot as well?
What was your shutter speed?
Can you link to some footage that shows this (Vimeo or similar)?

Sony replaced my lens when I had this problem under warranty, it should be smooth even on 1.
This is a fairly common problem, I have read about 4-5 others with the same problem.
Search posts and you will find threads about this problem.
My dealer lent me another lens when mine was at Sony NJ. It took about 2 weeks but Sony sent me a brand new lens. It has worked great for the past 6 months.
My original lens seemed a little jerky when I first got it, I thought it was me. Then it got much worse even 13 was jerky.

I would back up all the files onto other drives.
Then I would use Disc Warrior to see if there are problems with your drive/raid.
Let DW rebuild directories, sometimes you have to try 2 or 3 times.
Good luck, I have done this fix a few times when things looked very bleak, and it worked.
And from now on Back up as much as possible.
Worst case, can you recapture media?

If you have AE, then you have the perfect tool.
I also use Sorenson Squeeze, it works very well for flash or other web formats and has good de-interlace settings.

You can use paper, fabric or painted wall. The best in my opinion is painted wall.
Buy green or blue chroma paint, I use Rosco. You can get it at B&H or any good supplier.
Second best in my opinion is a chroma key fabric stretched on a fame.
Cheapest but OK is chroma key BG paper.

Thanks Dave,
I will try it today. It would be great to capture SDI 23.98 green screen uncompressed into my AJA.

When I monitor hd-sdi out in the field the EX3 outputs 1080i. I have noticed that several times. Maybe there is a way to change that. I use a JVC professional 1080 monitor, it always tells me the signal it is getting. Even if I shoot 1080 24p it outputs 1080i 29.97 through sdi out, but it does record 23.98p.
The only way I can really see 24p is by outputting through my AJA card set up to output 23.98p, then my monitor switches to 24p and the picture is really nice.
I have never been able to output 23.98p component or SDI from my EX3. If anyone knows how I would love to find out how you do it.

When I play the clip it smoothes out but I see a lot of compression (from Vimeo I am sure).
It is as if you are only seeing 1/2 the lines (interlaced video looks like that if you stop on a field).I think it has to do with how you are viewing the video. Does it look chunky on a professional HD monitor playing 30P or are you only viewing on a computer monitor. In FCP you have to set the output on AJA to 30p, not 30i for example or the monitor will try to play it as interlaced and it will not look right.
Without more info, about your viewing setup it is hard to tell.

It seems you still have to transcode XDcam to prores or another M100 supported codec.
Unless there is something I am missing.
I just tried importing a clip into a bin, and I got the same old import dialog and XDcam is not one of the codecs you can choose on import.
So I don’t see what: [Wickham Strub] “Sony XDCAM Support: Media 100 v13.0.2 expands support for XDCAM video formats”, means.
