My dealer (I have been using him for over 15 years now) lent me another 1/2″ lens a Fuji 17x while he raised heck with Sony and I had a brand new lens within 2 weeks. I had full use of the cam the whole time.
This was about 8 months ago when Sony did not have enough of the lenses to ship new cams.

It never hurts to back up, DW even tells you this.
So if you can back up.
I have used DW hundreds of times on my computers and others in trouble. And I have never had DW destroy files.
DW rebuilds the main and sub directories, lets you preview new version of disk alongside old version, before you replace directories.
Sometimes you have to run DW more than once for complete fix.

The supplied adapter is for 1/2″ glass it does power lens from contacts on mount, for lenses that have contacts on mount.
2/3″ lenses that require external cable need the Fuji adapter.

Sony replaced my lens about 6 months ago and it has been very smooth ever since then.
I wold insist on a replacement.
I would choose Canon KH20x6.4KRS as a second lens because I could use a longer lens than standard.
If you do get a second lens send the original back to Sony and insist on a replacement.

As far as fixing in post.
Yes it could be done in AE.
You would build a filter effect that neutralizes the phasing including a soft border (probably a brightness adjustment or maybe levels), then make it travel with the “disturbance”.
If it is really even and always the same you could then loop it.
It may not be that bad, but if it varies in intensity and frequency it could take a while.

I have 20-30 hrs of footage shot with HMI and the EX3 all 1080 60i, and I have none of this in any footage.
Are you always using the same lights?

Another rig I shoot with sometimes on a boat is the Fig Rig.
It is quite affordable and works pretty well. I have also used it on steam locomotives, very bumpy and cramped. There is no room for Stedicam there.
If you get a camera controller with this it is a really useful rig.

I use a Stedicam mini (it is pretty big actually) cameras up to 20lbs.
It works very well originally I got it to use on a DSR500, I add weight to it to use on my EX3.

That looks like RF interferance.
Were you close to any large antenna or equipment that may have emitted RF?
If you set up your lights somewhere else, another location is the phasing present?
Also try shooting with just one light at a time to see if there is one light causing this effect.
