My FCPX 10.3 projects all update fine and open in 10.4. I am on OS 10.13.2, works fine on 2 Macs am MBP TOL 2016 and a TOL iMac 2012.
The only plugins I use are LUT Utility and ColorFinale Pro. Those work fine as well. But may not be necessary with the new CC and LUT support in 10.4.

Did anyone other than me use Radius (MacClone) computer and Radius Telecast. It was a Mac 8100 I seem to remember, and the thing never really worked. There was a cheaper version Radius Edit that used Premier that absolutely did not work at all. Audi drifted in 2 minutes. You had to write scripts to play back 2 minute segments.
Then I went M100 and stayed with it for more than a decade.
Now FCPX is my main editor.
Those early NLE days were painful and expensive, Telecast was about $20K I seem to recall, before they dumped the production and you could buy them for a tenth of that.

That pesky problem with XAVC-L is on the fix list. That is great for all FS5 shooters/editors.

There will be a fix soon.
I just had a long talk with Apple FCPX tech support a couple layers up.
And they will be fixing this at some point. The FS5 is not on the approved list yet but it will be hopefully soon. Thy seem to think like I do there is a meta tag in the file QT is not reading correctly. So we are waiting for an update.

Thanks Mathieu, but the Log handling is set to none.
I will contact both Apple and Sony about this.

No Lut applied. Thanks for the tip. As far as I can see, where would I see an auto applied Lut?
Interestingly a HD shot with the same settings at the same time is fine. But the UHD is behaving this way. In Resolve it is fine but in FCPX everything above 100 ire is clipped.
The only footage I have ever seen do this is UHD XAVC-L from the FS5. The UHD XAVC-I from the FS7 does not do this.
I will contact both Apple an Sony after the Holidays.
But any input would be greatly appreciated. Other shooters have seen the same thing. So it is not just my 2 installs of FCPX.

Go to the Project Settings/Color Management/Look Up Tables and click on Open LUT folder.
You can then organic in folders and rename .cube files.
Then just reload, this can take while. And you are done.
This is for Resolve 12.
I have a shortcut to this folder in my Finder left bar, so I can instantly get there even with out Resolve launched , the LUT folder is buried very deep in the Library.

I have always used Sublime, it is very easy to use and works great on long projects for Blurry and DVD:

January 30, 2015 at 9:27 pm in reply to: best cheap method of digitising VHS tapes into FCPXI have used a Matrox MX02, an old AJA M100 board set and BM Ultrastudio. They all work quit well.
Just be aware that often old tapes in VHS machines drift so sometimes it takes a few tries to get everything working smoothly.
It is a good idea to FF all the way and the rewind before trying to play tapes that have sat so a long time. And always store tapes upright like a Book rewound all the way. If lying on their side for years the tape actually sags and can cause problems in playback.
On really bad tapes/decks it is a good idea to run through a live mixer with TBC (time base correction) this can help if you get jittery video when playing back. Some of us still have this ancient equipment around I still have, VHS, S-VHS, Hi8, miniDV, Umatic, DAT, DA88 and Betacam decks. Make me an offer… I still have an 8 track somewhere as well.
Actually I still use them sometimes. A lot of times I have to open them up to physically help the rubber bands to turn togged them to run. I love solid state… Head cleaning and alignments of heads used to be thousands
of $$ every year.Olof Ekbergh
