10.2.3 Update is here
Posted by Joe Mordecai on February 4, 2016 at 9:58 pmMotion + Compressor as well. For the most part, stability/bug fix updates. I think we were all secretly hoping for something bigger after six months, but oh well – life goes on!

February 5, 2016 at 12:46 amThat pesky problem with XAVC-L is on the fix list. That is great for all FS5 shooters/editors.

February 5, 2016 at 12:44 pmEither this means a big update is just around the corner or that FCPX has moved into stasis mode. If the latter, then Apple feels it’s largely feature-complete and all the engineers have moved over to making a car OS.

“I think the next update will tell us a lot. Logic Pro development seems to be continuing at a pace, that certainly hasn’t been put into stasis mode.

Agreed. It’s a coin toss at the moment with FCPX. OTOH, the SAN changes are no small feat. That hits at a hit-end market, but probably benefits everyone. Since FCPX is not a big marketing focus for Apple, it does allow them to add some less sexy, but very important, features.

February 5, 2016 at 2:38 pmI think with the Roles-mixer patents that have been showing up, and some hearsay that people within Apple ‘realise that Audio should be better in FCPX’, I’m guessing that it’s a stop-gop solution to a big release.
I am, like a lot of us, sometimes dissapointed with the pace of development with FCPX.
On the other hand, although I can be jealous of the pace that Adobe seems to have with Premiere Pro, I still love the way X works a lot better, I love cutting in it a lot more, and although this isn’t empirical, a lot of people seem to agree that overall stability with X (at this point) seems better than PPro.https://mathieughekiere.wordpress.com
