    Thanks for all your feeback.

We had pre-informed the talent that green was a no go – she didn’t think that the green tinge would interfer with the post! Unfortunately, in this particular case a reshoot is also not possible.

Thanks Conrad for your suggestion. Using your “track matte mode” method, I was able to get back the green tinge. I had to work a little more on the key around areas such as hair… but on the whole we are happy with the result – many thanks!

    Thanks for all your feedback.

I have decided to try out the WarmCards 3.0 (also included a pure white and grey card). Will let you know what my test results are.

    Thanks again

I like you idea to fit a “top quality UV filter” on my camera. Having done a little research, what’s the difference between a UV-filter and a polarised filter? Should I use a different one for indoor green screen and outdoor filming? Any makes (i.e. Hoya) & models you might recommend. Thanks again.

Many thanks Michael for your tips.

Doug Jensen of Vortex Media has done a video of “Mastering Sony’s PMW-200, 160, 150, 100 XDCAM Cameras” – looks just the thing I need!

    Regards, Oliver

Thanks for your tip Bob. May I ask what 50 IRE is?

Also, I need to do some filming outside (sporting event in snow – bright sunshine). How do I best white balance such a shooting?

May 13, 2013 at 7:58 pm in reply to: Render settings for a DVD?

    Thanks for your feedback Dave.

    Sorry, I am still a little confused…

    1. I tested several DVD Authoring Programs – I was able to create DVDs with 9 megabytes/sec. (not 6) – however, the quality did not really improve.

    2. When I look at a film on DVD on my TV – the quality is great… why can’t I create something similar?

Sorry for the dumbo questions – I have never created a DVD before and the learning curve is steep!

May 12, 2013 at 4:21 pm in reply to: Render settings for a DVD?

I have done a little experimenting over the weekend.

I used the “MPEG2-DVD” format preset and then changed quality to 5 and bitrate settings to CBR, 9 Mbps. The video looks just fine – however, I am not 100% happy with the quality of output. On my 46″ TV, the whole movie is pixelated and not as high quality at what I actually shot. If I render to a .mp4 and view it on a PC, the quality is much higher. Am I doing something wrong here?

I have found these picture profiles at AbelCine. Do you think that any of these could be good for my particular skiing project?
