Differing render results using AE & Encoder
When I render .flv files, I get differing results using After Effects CS5 (version 10.0.2.4) then when I use Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (version 5.0.1.0). The colors in the Encoder version (right picture) do not seem to match was I originally see in AE and are more saturated:
With both programs I use the “On2 VP6” codec and “VBR” set to the same bitrate with “Quality” set to “Best”. Yes, we are using a Linearize Working space. My “Project Settings” look like this:
We shoot with a Sony XDCAM at 1920×1080 HD422 25P – the imported .mxf is interpreted as HDTV (Rec. 709) Y’CbCr. Are we doing something wrong here?

Looks like AME is not understanding the linearized working space.
To clean this up, you can nest your main comp in a new comp — call it something like “Main Comp for AME.” Add the Color Profile Converter effect to the main comp layer in your AME comp, and for the Output Profile, choose “HDTV (Rec. 709).”
Do all your regular work in the main comp; use the new “Main Comp for AME” only for outputting via AME.

You’re welcome. Ae is color managed, but AME is not, so you have to do it manually.
BTW, sRGB may be a more appropriate choice than Rec. 709 for your Flash video. I don’t know for sure.
