I think there is a bug in the code that ER Media Toolkit uses to convert to .mxf extension – so davinci Resolve cannot read the files!

Yes, but there is a problem with ER Media Toolkit and .mxf – I made the test with Davinci Resolve 15 Studio – it was okay with .mov !

FFmpeg and m2t!

With FFmpeg, your m2t recordings will not be larger when changing to .mov – FFmpeg will Rewrap from m2t container to .mov container – without changing the codec!

Hi Terence !

If you have the courage – then try to install FFmpeg and batch convert your m2t recordings with FFmpeg to .mov – this way the recordings will have almost the same size after the conversion! See here how to do – remember to change: (* .MTS) to (* .M2T) in the batch file!

If I was missing a computer now – I would probably go for one – Ryzen Threadripper 1950X – 16 Cores – 32 Threads – 60 PCIe 3.0 Lanes CPU and a ASUS Radeon VII, graphics Card, PCI-Express 3.0, 16GB HBM2 or GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 11GB !

If you can wait a bit – then PCIe 4.0 will be twice as fast as PCIe 3.0! DDR5 memory will be twice as fast as DDR4 and so on!

My own outdated computer – I built in 2016 – for Davinci resolve! It is still okay – so I can wait and see !

Personally, I will never use an Intel Core i9-9900K Coffee Lake cpu for a video editing machine – Coffee Lake CPUs have Max # of PCI Express Lanes 16! If you later want to apply for example a BlackMagic Intensity Pro 4K card x4! Then the graphics card speed will go from x16 to x8! The same goes for some motherboards if you install a nvme drive PCIe Gen 3.0 x4!

Or change/rename .mp4 to .ts will also force Vegas Pro 16 to use compoundplug.dll

Go to your C-drive – Programs – Vegas – Vegas Pro 16 – FileIO Plug Ins – Rename so4compoundplug to REMso4compoundplug – Vegas pro 16 – will then use compoundplug.dll and you can play your footage !
