Yup that’s a useful function. You actually have three states
– OFF
– SDI and GUI
– GUI ONLY
SDI and GUI will show the window on the video monitor as well in Resolve itself, while GUI only will hide it from the video monitor.
Useful for the times the client doesn’t need to see on the video monitor exactly what’s going on in terms of the technical approach.
I do however, as often as I can, switch it on followed by “ok, let’s track this face, shall we?” And they’re super amazed by the instant spot on tracking. I then switch to GUI only and continue to adjust inside/outside the window while I let them cool off after what they just saw.
