    Hi, everyone. I’m curious about what you Resolve folks use for your calibrated monitors. I’m still on Apple Color, using an old CRT, but plan to go DaVinci sooner or later. I will want a more modern monitor to work with both Color and DaVinci.

    I use a HP Dreamcolor but there are a few choices of very nice grading monitors on the market.
    Check out Flanders Scientific, Ikegami, Sony, and Panasonic.

    I have a Flanders Scientific LM-2461w that I am very happy with, and has been very stable and accurate, definitely a good value.

    I’m also using an HP Dream Color w/ Blackmagic HDLink Displayport. Looking for a projector at some point.

    +1 for the FSI 2461 (or any of their monitors for that matter). While bang for the buck its a awesome monitor the other thing is they absolulty have THE BEST customer service of any monitor company and rival any company anywhere in that regard.

    Another thing I love is that they have an auto calibration routine that you can do if you rent their probe package (minolta CA-210s) or you can send the monitor back to them for re-alignment at anytime if you cover shipping.

    I’m on an old Panasonic BT-LH2600W at the moment, but I’m about to take a round of testing different monitors when they become available.

    If there was a reseller in Europe or preferably in Norway, I’d love to test the FSI.
    I haven’t heard back from Autocue after I said “Go!” on a loan agreement, so I’m not sure what’s gonna happen there.

    I will however have a demo a week or with the Sony OLED series. I know for a fact that if I go the OLED route, I’ll buy the cheapest 25″ due to the fact I don’t need the more advanced monitor. I’ve been told the only difference is firmware and some electronics. The panels are identical.

    Be careful there Ola. From what I know and have been told by some monitor industry insiders is that Sony with BVM only gets about 5% yield. Of course that means they have 95% of their panels “left over” sure some of those are probably garbage but I would be willing to bet that a percentage that weren’t good enough for the BVM make it into the PVM

    I do agree that OLED is the wave of the future and black levels are great, but from what I have seen they drift considerably (mainly because of blue channel aging) and are harder to calibrate. What I think will be interesting is some of the WHITE OLED monitors being developed with TFT filters.

    I started out with an e-Cinema DCM-23, but after the DVI interface went AWOL when I sent it back to the company for a firmware upgrade (“It will only take a couple of days!”, and “Its in the mail!”), I gave up on it after over a year of no further response. My perception is of a disappeared company.

    So I ponied up for a Flanders 2461, which is just fine, and several were purchased by a customer of mine with a distributed workflow for consistency among rooms. Its fidelity is quite good, but the on-screen scopes, mostly the audio monitoring and so on, “completed” me — I had erred in configuring my TVM-900 outboard scope without audio, so that base has now been covered. The connectivity includes just about everything you could possibly need.

    How are you setting your saturation level? , leaving it to factory default or adjusting it, if adjusting down to what value

    Or leaving to default

    Interesting inside info. Sure scares me a little.
    Too bad the US warranty is so bad compared to the European, heck even the Norwegian warranty.

    Unless someone in Norway is selling the FSI, I guess I’ll have to look somewhere else.

    Leave your settings at factory level. Send it in for calibration 1-2 times a year.
