As far as I know, proxy mode works no matter what kind of material you’re on. At least for QuickTime.

I’m no Adobe user, but Resolve 8.1 is good on Lion.

So if you Browse to the folder where the material is, can you see the files missing? If not, they’re in a codec not supported.

As for “collapsed multi clips” I’m not sure. Gotta test it before I say anything about that.

Hmm, can’t say I’ve experience that. What I do is
Grade – Render – Export XML

And that’s about it. Did you export XML prior to rendering?
