    Hello,

    Just wondering about export settings for Red footage from Resolve 8. I’m editing in Premiere Pro and have brought my timelines into Resolve via XML. When I go to export it just gives me a bunch of quicktime codecs, so I’m not really sure what to go with.

    Is it possible to simply export .r3d’s from resolve with updated grades, or do you need to transcode within the program.

    Thanks!

    Nope, you can’t render r3d. You can’t do that in REDs own app either. You’ll have to render to a file format and codec chosen in that list. Either as a image sequence or as a quicktime movie.

    Thanks! Another question;

    When I go to export my clips with the Final Cut XML preset, it doesn’t include an actual XML file, and when I go to export an XML from my conform tab, it still references my original .r3d files instead of the new prores files. How do you go about getting a new xml to reference the new .mov files?

    Hmm, can’t say I’ve experience that. What I do is
    Grade – Render – Export XML

    And that’s about it. Did you export XML prior to rendering?

    i think that when we use XML roundtrip option resolve should automatically export the XML …

    ps:let me ask : if for some reason resolve slipped few frames here and there (so online not 100% in sync with the offline (sometimes happen ) will the XML exported from resolve reflect the Timeline of resolve ? or the original IN-OUT of the imported XML ?

    thanks

    I’m not even getting an XML when I export, just the video files. Here is a screenshot of my export settings and the folder after the export has gone through;
