It can be a number of problems. The last show I started on turned out to have a bunch of AVC Intra stuff, which Resolve didn’t like. So I went to find the files in Finder, converted them to Prores, and imported the files.
Some times I can’t find the issue at all, so I “bake” the clip. In FCP I set I/O, export. Then import and replace in Resolve.
The first and only time I tried using multi clips in Resolve was a disaster. So I baked it, and manually sliced the thing.
What exactly do you mean by I have tried collapsing all the multiclips? What procedure did you do?

All though i see what you are asking for, and I guess it’s a reason you’ve got that setup, I’d advise you to play a little with the setup. At least try it. If you don’t like it, change it back.
In my DaVinci setup I have the DaVinci Resolve GUI to my left, video monitor in the middle, and ScopeBox to the right. I sit directly in front of the video monitor which is my main focus while I work. I seldom look at the other two unless I’m not sure what’s going on, or doing some awesome node magic. Kind of keeps you “in the game”.

Good point! I tested with a completely white image. The OLED is in fact a lot warmer by default.

Went back to REC709 and simply dialed up the saturation, checked it with the Color bar. Looks good and similar to the OLED. hmm.. I should get a probe.

I’m testing them both side by side in this very moment.
I’ve found some odd things. I’m not really sure which monitor to trust now. The Sony OLED has richer colors and deeper blacks. The latter was expected.
Yet, I have to set the Autocue to D-cine colorspace in order to make them look anything like each other.
I don’t know which monitor is giving the more correct image right now.Will investigate.

An example. Guess which is ACES. Don’t get me wrong, i like ACES. Just the highlights being clipped on RED material is something I don’t understand.
On the other hand, I might be using it wrong?

Hmm yes, well, I don’t have problems with noise really. What I see is that the waveform is flat in the highs – it’s clipping the heck out of the highlights. If I switch to RGB and use RED settings, then grade, there’s plenty of information to pull down.

Are you using DaVinci RGB or ACES color space?

I heard I might get the chance to test a Sony OLED monitor this week to. I’ll do an Autocue vs OLED article later this week.

Nope, you can’t render r3d. You can’t do that in REDs own app either. You’ll have to render to a file format and codec chosen in that list. Either as a image sequence or as a quicktime movie.
