    Hey Grinner,

I did what you said, but unfortunately it didn’t change anything.
The thing is now, that avid shows this abstractMDB exception now also for the original AVC-Intra files.
The strange thing is, that it seems like no file is offline in the project, I can play every clip. (I’m not completely sure, since there are hundreds of clips in this project.)

do you have another idea to solve the

Exception: AbstractMDB::scanMXFFileToMobManager – Invalid data stream offset
An Error occured scanning the file ‘(here it shows the path and mxf file)’.

    problem?

    cheers

hmmm, that sounds logical. I will try that and post the result.

At least I solved the problem with the relink. I noticed, there were only 30% of the files transcoded, and the one I tested the relink with was not. Bad luck.

thank your for the fast answer 🙂

did you try to delete the database files from the media files folder? maybe they got damaged. Avid rebuilds them then right away.

March 8, 2009 at 8:02 pm in reply to: 25p in 25i Project Issue

I did a video mixdown of all the interlaced parts (deinterlaced with fluid motion) and that worked out well, when transfering to a 25p project.

but now i got even more problems, because for some reason, fluid motion doesn’t work at all in the 25p projekt. when rendering the progressive clips (captured within the 25i project) fluid motion somehow fu**s up the clip. in the timeline monitor the picture looks completely distorted, but strangly, when i press play, i can see the perfectly rendered slowmotion clip. as soon as i press stop, it is distorted again.

another thing that really sucks is, that all the other effects still prozess the stock as they did in the 25i project. for example, the stabilizer effect output is still interlaced.

what the hack shall i do? Avid warned me, that i might run into troubles, when i opened the 25i sequence in the new 25p project.
I did! And i wander if there is a solution for it. do i really have to capture all the material again? that would suck big time.

    :(((

note: i edit on MC 2.8 may the problem disappear, when i find an editing room with MC 3.0?

    i gave it a try and created a 25p project. (MC v 2.8)
i opened the bin with the sequence and could play it without a problem. (except some standard warnings)

I did some test renderings, and it appears, that avid really exports the full resolution then.

everything works fine except some clips with the fluid motion effect, where i slowed down some shots which actually really where interlaced. (because they where shot with a different camera)

the input/output option in this effect disappeared in 25p mode, and the effect can’t handle this footage at all. I suppose, i have to pre render the effect in the 25i project, before moving to the 25p project. Or is there a better way to solve this problem?

    Thanks for the fast answer

In your case, I still would try, to copy the files manually to the other harddrive. when you sort the files by date, it should be easy to figure out, which files belong to the project. and you can always use the media tool in avid to help you figuring out, what files belong to the project.

It is a little bit of work, but i think you will be much faster, than figuring out all the problems, that appear, when using other methodes.

    hope this helps somehow…

thank you michael for the fast answer.
    you were completely right.

It was because of the user settings, and also quit simple to solve without loosing any of my keyboard or other settings.

In case someone got the same Problem like I had, here is, what I did:

    1. I copied the *user* Settings.avs file from my “avid users/user” folder,
    2. I deleted the “user” folder
    3. I started avid to create a new user (with the same name)
    4. I closed Avid
    5. I moved the old *user* Settings.avs file back into the (from avid) new created user folder.

when restarting avid with my user, everything is cool, no bugs anymore and all my psersonal settings still there.

    hope I didn’t explain it too complicated…
