I’m editing on avid MC 3 and everything worked fine like usual for a couple of projects.
since yesterday, avid does a very strange thing: when i want to insert a clip into the timeline (key B), it doesn’t insert the clip at the position indicator, but one or two seconds before.

I thought, maybe it is, because the Project is too big already, but it also does it in other projects. Reboot doesn’t help either.

This does not make any sense.

I run out of ideas, how to solve the problem. Shall i reinstall the whole avid system?

Anyone got an idea, what might cause this problem?

Do you have an In point? If so, it will go by the In point, not the position indicator.

Also, try making new user settings. Yours might have been corrupted somehow (it happens sometimes).

Make sure the “use blue bar” is active in the composer settings?

thank you michael for the fast answer.
    you were completely right.

It was because of the user settings, and also quit simple to solve without loosing any of my keyboard or other settings.

In case someone got the same Problem like I had, here is, what I did:

    1. I copied the *user* Settings.avs file from my “avid users/user” folder,
    2. I deleted the “user” folder
    3. I started avid to create a new user (with the same name)
    4. I closed Avid
    5. I moved the old *user* Settings.avs file back into the (from avid) new created user folder.

when restarting avid with my user, everything is cool, no bugs anymore and all my psersonal settings still there.

    hope I didn’t explain it too complicated…
