I contacted Cineform. They told me to shoot in Cinematone 24, which will put 24p inside of a 60i shell. Then when I use the CineForm codec, it will extract the 24p.

So far so good. Now, does anyone know if Vimeo (and/or YouTube) will accept 24P HD?

OK, I just realized that the Vegas option for 23.976 fps is 24p. Am I correct that I cannot use 24p, since my camera is 1080i?

I apologize for the ignorant questions, but I am very confused here, and am trying to figure things out. Any advice or help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Um, I don’t know if this will help you, but some time ago we had Vegas Pro 8.0b locking up when rendering HD, and also whenever we used large still images. Vegas Pro 9 is supposed to have been upgraded ‘under the hood’ to accept much larger files and stills.

I assume Vegas 9 PE means “Platinum Edition” (i.e., studio, not Pro)? I am wondering if it really handles HD on all machines.

Just to troubleshoot, could you download the trial version of Vegas Pro 9, and see if that will render it?

It’s just a thought…and it might be worth what you paid for it.

I will try to let you know. I have about a dozen irons in the fire, so it might be a week before I get a chance to really dig in and test anything out good.

Thank you for telling me that I can install 8.0c alongside of 8.1. I would be very interested to know how things go for you with X64, and also with your other 32-bit apps.

If I have problems with 8.1, or if I cannot get my other 32-bit apps to work (DVD Architect, Boris Red, etc), do you know what program I would use to install a dual-boot on a PC?

Quicktime 64 is out. So far so good.

I think they just released a 64-bit version, like, seconds ago.
I just uninstalled the 32-bit, and am rebooting.

Hi guys.

Update.

I am not sure if I messed up, or what, but while QuickTime installed, ITunes said it did not install. Then I went to open some .mov files in 8.1, and it would not go, so something was wrong with QuickTime.

I tried to download again, just to see what would happen, and this time there was a 64 bit installer for ITunes 8 (upper left hand corner of https://www.apple.com/itunes/download). The file is iTunes64setup.exe. Is this brand new, or did I just miss it before?

I am installing it now.

How did you get QuickTime to install on your machine? And what version of Vista 64 are you using (Home Premium, Business, Ultimate?)
