I was under the impression this particular setup was not yet supported in FCP but I could be wrong. You may need to add a card such as a Kona.

My suggestion- Motion is a graphics app. Sound is at the bottom of its abilities. Do you sound in FCP or SoundTrack Pro.

Spend a little more time with the manual- this is pretty well explained. You need to change your render settings to output the entire range of your animation rather than the current frame and choose the output format and location.

To an HD monitor yes, to an SD no. Then again if you are working with this camera it’s probably time to bump up to an HD monitor.

Well the conclusion I draw from that thread is that it’s not possible yet to resolve 1080 24pA to 23.98 as FCP nor Avid have not been updated yet. So the clear instructions are- wait.

Well are we talking about monitoring DVCPROHD on an HD monitor or downconverting DVCPROHD to SD?

Umm- no I didn’t say that. I asked what elements you had and what you expected the program to create.

DVCPROHD is a 100Mbit signal- it requires only about 4x the storage of standard DV. You can use internal SATA drives and FW800s to cut with. The camera can act as a playout to your NTSC monitor or you can get one of the BMD or Kona cards to do the downconvert. If you have FCP 5 it’s a total no-brainer.
