Motion is bitmap based, not vector so you’ll likely get some artifacting by scaling something up from Motion. My suggestion would be to recreate in Photoshop or better Illustrator.

Well DVCAM is Sony so get their best one. If it fits on the shorter length- go shorter.

Bit early- not enough developer time with final units I would think. Look out for NAB though.

Motion is always 72dpi because dpi is print, Motion works in video which is simply pixels. 1125×675 at 72dpi is the same as 1125×675 at 300dpi- the dpi only comes into play when you print something. Play around a bit in photoshop and you’ll get it or read this:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution

So for example if you wanted a “300dpi” equivalent version of an 1125×675 video at “72dpi” you actually want an output video resolution of 4688 x 2812. Which I believe is beyond the capability of Motion anyway. Is this something for Print? If so Motion is the wrong place to do it. If it’s for video 4688 x 2812 is around 4K 35mm film resolution so this is huge.

What aspect do you mean? The glow and soft filter are easily done as a post effect, the lighting with radiosity. ?

  • Make sure your bg opacity is set to 0% in project and preferences settings, make sure to be exporting to a format that includes an alpha channel- such as Photoshop image sequence or Motion project if going to FCP, make sure the program it’s going to knows there’s an alpha channel to interpret.

Ok that worked. Hmm- it kind of depends what aspect of that video you wanted to recreate. If you had the street as a still and the animated shadows as footage with an alpha channel or keyed to luminance sure.

Bad urls can easily be recreated in Motion. 🙂

Problem is they add in a lot of extra frequencies so you’re not really hearing what you’re recording.
