Definitely do not open it- you will just make things worse and void your warranty if you’re still within the warranty period. Take it to your local Panasonic service center. It’s either a warranty repair or should be very cheap to get it taken care of.

Technically you could bolt any two cameras together and get “3D.” But it’s a little more complicated than that to get something that would be watchable:

As Motion is much more about the GPU than the hard drive- I wouldn’t expect that much of a boost in Motion. Not that there won’t be some sort of improvement but nothing like what you might see in AFX for example.

Sennheiser Wireless G3. Isn’t cheap as you want but rocks. If I couldn’t swing that I’d stay wired. The amount of aggravation and crappy sounding audio a $300 or less wireless system buys you just ain’t worth the trouble.

Doable but definitely get your lighting great. Paper is ok- not idea though. If you’re doing a home studio under less than great lighting I recommend this to make your life much easier in post–

That wouldn’t be a legal usage of your license for FCP X. You’d need to sign into the Mac App Store and use one of your installs or you’d need to have them purchase Motion. It’s only $50….

You should be able to import those directly from the card image. File>Import Media.

Can’t say on #1- are you sure you’re comparing with the same editing timebase. Are you on a 24p timeline or a 29.97 timeline. As for the auto iris- that’s unfortunately why I’d never recommend auto iris. Instead use a monitor with peaking/waveform and a remote iris control if needed. There’s no good way to every use auto exposure if you want your shots to be consistently good.
