Don’t see why not- it has HD-SDI out. A bit outgunned by modern cameras these days.

Yeah I hope the client doesn’t read this web page or they might become an ex-client. The customer is always right. Surely you have other stuff to put in your reel and if you don’t, hit the pavement and find some more clients.

Always been a Sandisk man- never had any issues. Just make sure you get at least the minimum recommended read/write speed for the camera- if not max out because data rates will always be on the rise.

Yeah that looks pretty solid- a bit of backlight too would bump up the quality quite a bit. But yeah- camera wise the GH2/T4i mentioned above would be fine choices to get you into the world of HD for under $1K + glass of course.

Also just as an aside- I only show myself on camera at the same time with screen capturing only when it’s totally necessary. If I’m just narrating slides or going through an in-depth workflow- I find it much more effective to shoot those as completely separate segments. I mean who wants to see me sitting at a computer screen vs. just hearing my voice going through the info with on camera intros and outros on a nice set instead. And it’s a lot easier to manage and edit as well.

Hmm- that hasn’t been my experience at all. My suggestion would be to record the video to an HD format in camera separately and use Screenflow alone to capture the screen. That’s precisely what I do with all of my tutorial videos-

Crumpler makes nice inexpensive bags. Of course you might want to add a bit of padding depending on how hard you’ll be using it.
