As we do not know your location, it is hard for us to recommend off-site companies for archival storage of records.

You would probably be looking for a commerical company that provides a records management and retention service, where they give you access to secure storage that is resistant to fire, flood and natural disasters. Most companies just offer a holding facility which is just shelving in a storage unit somewhere under lock and key. This sort of protection does not come cheap and typically involves a small monthly subscription fee.

I would do as another poster suggested and create a copy of your memories on 1 or more hard drives and give it to a trusted family member or relative to look after. Given the cost of hard drives nowadays, it is a viable option.

The silence is deafening. I have not even heard from Sony despite being a registered user AND registering specifically for SVP11.

Sony Vegas will allow multiple versions on the same PC. I have both 9 and 10 installed. On a 64 bit machine, you can have both the 32 bit version and 64 bit version installed.

You can also start up more than 1 instance of Vegas on the same machine, say, if you wanted to continue editing on a project whilst rendering another.

One way you could do this is to set up 3 separate video tracks and then use Pan and crop to reduce the size and position of the video event for each track. Be careful not to accidentally keyframe, otherwise your video may start to wander slowly.

You can also achieve the same outcome using track motion.

I have had similar things happen to me, unfortunately. I would edit a project and everything was OK until I restarted the PC or (in my case) dismounted and remounted the drive.

I ended up having to render out the edit as an m2t file (after fixing it up), with and without the audio.

I never got to find what was causing it. It happened in 2 consecutive projects, both weddings, always at the end of a massive edit, and just before the deadline was due :-). I was using 10c at the time. In both cases, I was using nested veg files. On projects since then, I have not had cause for that, and the problem has not recurred.

Have you tried updating Vegas 9 to the latest version? Your version is a tad old. The latest build is 9.0e 1147

Belarc advisor is a legitimate and free tool you can use to view system information, but that assumes you still have the old PC available.

I use it for conducting PC audits.

If you no longer have the system, contact the manufacturer as suggested.
