  • Install V11 while keeping V9?

    Hi Guys,

Could someone please advise me on how best to install the new version of Vegas Pro (V11) on my system, while allowing me to keep my (smoothly operating) version 9 still functional. Can I install both versions on the same drive?

I don’t usually jump into a new version quite this quickly for obvious reasons, but I wanted to take advantage of the upgrade deal along with the New Blue Titler package. I want to continue using V9 while I examine V11…and while the bugs are slowly worked out of it.

    Many thanks,

    Cheers,
    Bruce

Sony Vegas will allow multiple versions on the same PC. I have both 9 and 10 installed. On a 64 bit machine, you can have both the 32 bit version and 64 bit version installed.

You can also start up more than 1 instance of Vegas on the same machine, say, if you wanted to continue editing on a project whilst rendering another.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

As Nigel said just install 11 and don’t worry about it. I have Vegas Pro 9.0, 10.0, & 11.0 both 32-bit & 64-bit running on my workstation without any problems.

    Thanks so much.

I’ll go ahead with the install as you suggest. I thought I might need to partition my drive. I’m happy that is not necessary.

I really appreciate the wonderful resource this forum provides.
