I could be wrong but I don’t think that’s possible. You can’t get any 3D positional data from the tips of the stroke in 3D stroke, only it’s central transform point.
You might just have to fake it and do a spot of key-framing!
Yep, I agree. AE CS3 is pretty good on the MBP for most things.
You’ll definitely see a massive performance leap on a new octo-power-thingy, but the portability factor of the MBP is a massive boon in general usage, and it’s super-sexy as well.
David, when you say ‘be really careful doing this’, what exactly do you mean? I’m having the same problem and don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater and destroy my system…
I’m using AE 7, and the script doesn’t show up in my AE interface. It appears if I take the ‘bin’ off the filename, but obviously then it doesn’t work.
Check out PF Hoe pro. It’s cheap and it should work for this. It takes some tweaking once you get the data into AE but I’ve been impressed with it so far.

There’s a new tutorial on Videocopilot.net that’s pretty good too. It’s part of the exploding planet tut, but it’s actually a good intro to the shatter plugin.
