I think Andrew Kramer’s deinterlacing tutorial (videocopilot.net) comes with a PSD that can blot out one field, leaving you with the other. Precomp them separately and there you go…if I understand you!

All the incredible things we can do in AE…and we can’t animate effects on and off. I wanted to do this a while back. No dice 🙁

okey dokey, yeah that will work fine actually. The intensity of the glow and the opacity of the fractal noise.

    Thanks Dan

Thanks, I watched that tutorial this morning…but it doesn’t seem to tell me how to actually switch an effect off?

It shows you how to link effect propeties or opacity properties to a checkbox but not the effect itself. I just want to be able to literally disable glow effects on 20 layers with a single checkbox. If that’s in the tutorial then I’m not looking right!

Anyone care to help out an expressions simpleton here?

hmmmmm well i got round it in the end by dragging a kind of ‘sacrificial window’ to below the timeline window: something i never use, like brush tips. Then made that window very small, almost invisible, so it ended up pushing up the timeline window to the point where all of its bits were visible…
