in the keyboard layout manager (option H)
if i hover over the arrows tool tips shows them named as Left, Right, Up & Down.

you can jump back to the button list if you want,
but did you know you can also assign buttons from the Keyboard layout window,
just by dragging them.

(you can also assign keyboard shortcuts in the button window just be selecting a command, and hitting the desired keys)

it seems crazy to pay more (if you are going for that $155 package) for less options

i could not do without the number pad.

i’ve tried using jog/shuttle wheels with FCP, and not found them useful.

everyone has their own preferred way of working of course.
mine involves mapping the JKL keys to 456 on the number pad. (and mark in/out to 8/9)
with a LOT less strain on my wrist, that set of keyboard commands has kept me out of hospital.

are there any filters on the audio?
pitch correction, for instance uses up a lot of track allocation.

oh, and the real question is what is the format of the FOOTAGE?

Another way is to copy the sequence into a new project,
and got to the Tool Menu > Create Master Clips

you will get one instance of each clip used.
after a bit of tidying up of text generators and slugs etc, you can generate a batch list

very basic, not as detailed as Sequence Clip reporter

up the number of real time audio tracks you can play in FCP in your user prefs

default is 8… measly!

what subtitle generator are you using?

i have noticed this with Text Up Pro.
sometimes if the underlying clip has a motion effect, the sub jumps up a few lines.

solution is to render.

if you blend the fields, you keep the resolution,
but will get ugly (to my eye) smearing on fast motion.

for de-interlacing within FCP, i recommend the Graeme Nattress Smart De-interlace.
best there is, IMO

and if it’s red, you need to set your RT playback to “unlimited”

there are two 3rd party subtitle tools that are better than hte title tool.

Text Up, or Text Up Pro from Spherico filmtools,
and there’s one from Digital Heaven, too.

both have bottom justification, and text wrapping,
which are pretty essential for subtitling

that would be the FCP project file you are working in.
i doubt that’s the issue.

but you could have a corrupt sequence,
copy and paste the contents into a new timeline.
it’ll mean a re-render, so maybe test the render on the trouble spots first.
