not because doing blu-ray that will have Memories issue, but editing HD file with couple transistion & FX and set in properties window 32Bit instead of 8 Bit then Vegas would crash somewhere around 50% when rendering..lots of people experience that issue..i do weddings and commercials and time is pressed so for now i guest just have to work around..or may be Sony people will look into this..may be! -

There’s no yellow question mark at all in my Device Manager…the .m2t play fine with Nero showtime and premiere pro also load up properly..only with Vegas x64 in WIN XP Pro x64.
Main Concept MPEG2 issue in Vegas?

i am a Vegas user for many years (32bit) and having issue with render with setting 32bit Video level..and full in properties page (doing Blu-ray proj) Vegas keep givin error system low on memmories…
read on forum and see bunch of people having the same problem and suggest should use Vegas x64…
i then buy another computer (friend put together, cost $3,500) without knowing Vegas x64 only support Vista & Win 7…when found out i already loaded 400G of HD footage into C Drive and bunch of useful softwares…i got lots of plugins for Vegas and affraid that not work for Vista or win7 so i installed vegas x32 loaded with all plugins i have..NO PROBLEM with flat Audio at all..but still MEMORIES issue..
Finally i decided to clean uninstall and install Vegas x64 and that bring me up to my earlier post.
I realize that SONY not guarranty Vegas x64 will work in XP x64 but i don’t have much time so then just Work Around.
any suggestion?

I finally talked to Sony rep about the issue NO AUDIO present (.m2t file) in Vegas x64 Window XP Pro 64bit and the result is:
VEGAS only support for Vista & Win 7…in win XP 64bit somehow Vegas don’t see Main Concept MPEG codec therefore we don’t see AUDIO…i tried so many ways and finally have to work around like this:
load CAP file .m2t into Premiere Pro and just render out the AUDIO (Mp3) then after import a .m2t file to Vegas time line, i delete the flat line AUDIO track and replace w the Mp3 (make sure they’re in sync)
then edit on..by the way any file render out with save as type: Main Concept MPEG2 etc…when importing back into Vegas will have flat line AUDIO…the only choice i find is save as type: Sony AVC…. and template: AVCHD…will work normally when importing back into Vegas.

I had the same problem (low memory..and Vegas stop at 57%) when using Vegas 9.0c and set properties>32Bit render out..i search the forum and found out lots of others having the same issue and somebody said that window x64 with plenty of Ram won’t have that problem..so i bought another comp. this time is Window 64Bit and can’t play my .m2t..Audio wave form is not present..if i mute Audio then the file play fine..unmute Audio then Vegas crash with error
“Vegas has stopped working…” and ask to report..Anyone knos how to solve this..please help.

I recently just bought a new Comp. window XP SP2 x64 to use Vegas since i have problem rendering out 32 Bit with Window XP 32 Bit (Memory issue) and also updated Vegas to 9.0d..somehow after drag my HDV file to timeline (.m2t) i don’t see Audio and once i hit play Vegas crash with error “Vegas has stopped working…” and ask to report the error…some other files also with .m2t, i see audio but also crash..never have this problem with window 32 Bit..Why with 64 Bit?
anyone knows how to solve this? please help!

Thank you Matt for sharing. I have the same issue about “system is low on Memory…” when rendering HD Proj in Vegas 9.0b ,my poject is 1Hr33min and takes several Hr to render to MPEG2 .m2t file (I had to pray everytime Vegas render, about 3,4 times failed w/the error)
Finally i got it (I had to render couple sections then reload into the project and offcourse Quality degrade a little..)I was thinking
to spend more money for RAM but according to your post i won’t and
now i’m about to install Vegas 6 i try render HD..Hopefully it’s work.Thanks again Matt.

Thanks for gave me link to HDVSplit, i DL and used it..it did capture
HD source to a ONE SINGLE File .m2t but i had to sit there for the whole tape (60 min) is there other CAP soft (output extension .m2t)
that give me option to set IN/OUT point and CAP that then just walk away without worry to click stop when tape’s end?
*** One more question, I’ve been working on this HD project (1440x1080i)using VEGAS and render out Main Concept MPEG2 (…m2t..)
on time line i have 2 Vid tracks & 2 Audio tracks (total 4 Tracks)
and Render’s template is…VBR one pass..Quality Slider=BEST…last page=BEST setting. The file is rendering like half way thru then i got a pop up message saying something like “system is low on memory, pls turn off other application….” i close it and the RENDER is STOP
,there’s no other app opening nor Antivirus checking..at that time
This message appear oftenly when i choose Propertie’s 32bit(Video level)& 32bit Full
i then choose 8bit it render longer but still get the message “Low memory..” Why is that happen, can you help Mike?

OK, so bottom line is Vegas cap HDV from Tape will have many broken clips right John? if that’s the case then why they even have those IN & OUT markers and Cap IN&OUT in there for since they’re all gray out and can not turn them on.., well that’s why i turn to Adobe Prem CS4 to cap 1 single long file (60min recently). It’s just that the file
captured has diff. extension, mpeg instead of m2t (I don’t know if this is better or not) and i prefer using Sony Vegas to cap and work in Vegas..Anyway Thanks for your response John.
