Hello all members, it is my first post and I feel confident I will solve my problem, after reading all of your posts and realize you know things about Vegas.

My p.c. contains a CPU INTEL CORE i5 i5-750 2.66 GHZ 8MB, a VIDEO (card) HIS ATI PCI-E HD 4850 iCOOLER IV 512MB 256 bit DDR3 and a DDR III HYPERX 4GB 2*2GB KINGSTON memory. I use Vegas 9.0 pro and render a 50 minutes project with multiple Fx (colour correction, old film, “Sin city” masking effect, cookie cutter…)Project settings HD 1080-60i (1920×1080, 29.970 fps)and Rendering settings SONY AVC, Template AVCHD 1920×1080-60i, system format MPEG 2, from the original camera AVCHD M2ts clip imported into Vegas.
Rendering stops always at 57% and the “system is low on memory you may close other applications…” pops up.
I read all of your previous posts guys, and tried to set Vegas Dynamic RAM preview to 0 and rendering settings to 1, close any Task manager additional Vegas processes, make sure Network rendering square is unchecked, and now I want to try to disable my p.c. AVAST antivirus while rendering and to render first thing in the morning to avoid possible system overheating.

Also wanna update Vegas, but want to ask you if after updating old saved projects created in the old Vegas pro 9 will still open in the updated version, please?

Thank you all for reading my post, have a nice week-end!

Yes you can and probably should. Vegas Pro 9.0d did help with the out of memory errors and any project made in any update of Vegas 9a,b,c, or d, can be opened and worked on and any other update so no worries about going back if things don’t work out. Definitely update to Vegas Pro 9.0d and see if it fixes things.

I am still having memory issues when working with JPEG and PNG files. Same project has the same issues when trying to render….not sure why. Just uninstalled Vegas and re-installed….hoping for better results. Anyone else have this with 9d?

How big are the JPEG and PNG files? HD is only 2 mega pixel resolution. if you are adding 8 to 10 mega pixel files, that could be your problem.

Hello JOHN, updated to Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 d and NOW it’s worse: soon as I start rendering my 1hour+ project, tried also to render only 30 minutes of the whole footage, the scary “error… low memory system… close other applications” pops up after 30 seconds rendering.

I disabled my AVAST antivirus, cleared any Internet pages that were open, made sure my output rendering destination has plenty of GB space, set rendering to Sony AVC same as my original AVCHD M2ts footage.

What is the solution to this problem, please?

“Vegas has stopped working…” and ask to report..Anyone knos how to solve this..please help.

Hello NHAT, thank you for adding some extra info on this problem. Windows 64 bits uses all the RAM while W 32 bits uses only 3/4 RAM, so I’m also considering to upgrade my 32 bits to W7 64 bits. Everyone says W 64 bits is perfect for AVCHD HD and for video editing in general! Consider problems with Drivers in the 64 bits though, many errors compared to the 32 one.

No clue about your audio problem. Continue to “Google” your problem or wait like me until John Rofrano or other Creative Cow pro’s will help us or ask a specialist if you come across one among your connections.

    Never have thought HD video editing is T H A T demanding…

If you are having audio problems it may be because you don’t have a 64-bit driver for your audio card. Make sure that you have the latest audio device drivers and that they support 64-bit. Open the Windows Device manager and make sure there isn’t a yellow exclamation point next to your audio card which would indicate that it’s not working properly.

Try to ask a “pro” you may know among your friends, but hang tough because problem may not be solved always that eazy. Why you didn’t keep the 9.0c ?
