Overnight compression and upload? Are you compressing a very long program every night in order to look at a small section of it?
How about you compress the file (whole or part) using a Compressor droplet and then use the desktop version of yousendit and skip Vimeo altogether. I do this on a daily basis and it is very fast. Or use an FTP client( Cute FTP for instance) to upload your compressed file to a directory on your or your company’s server (some cannot access yousendit at work). Either way there is no waiting for a file to be processed after uploading (if you do not have the full version of vimeo) and if you are working on a particular section of the project you can compress it and send them multiple rounds of changes throughout the day. Try swapping the outputs to the monitors on the back of the computer and then rearranging the monitors in the preferences pane. I had some trouble recently with a graphics card that is a few years old combined with an MXO and this did the trick for me.

Two Dells…Ultrasharps…both developed dark smears across the screens over the last few years. Replaced the one with the HP LP2475w. So far very pleased with it.

The translations software you need is a called a person…a person who is fluent in both the language of the original version and english. Anything short of that will be a disaster. Nuance, double entendre, innuendo, suggestion, colloquialisms, etc. are only successfully translated by humans. There is no shortcut. I have done this many times in chinese and spanish and you have to have that person sit with you while you create the subtitles…timing also counts and they will be able to help you with the flow.

FCP 7 fixed that. One of the better features if you upgrade. Not possible in previous versions. I used to copy the clip to the end of the timeline, adjust the speed, trim it back to the correct length and then drop it back where it belongs. A bit of a routine.
