No solution, but just discovered I have the same problem. Mac OS X 10.10.2

Not sure what OS you’re on but DirectLink from Pr to Sg actually does not work on a Mac. From Pr to Sg back to Pr the first time it’s fine. Go back into Sg and big problems. Just an FYI.

Another random shortcut that should work does not work for me as well. Possible because I am on 6.5.2.

I was told to upgrade to 6.5.4 but that has proven problematic since I’m on Yosemite, and there is an uninstall issue. Will have to do when there’s a lull in the work.

Shane – Actually meant to put this in my original post, but both delete keys (“delete” which is the equivalent of “backspace” on a pc, and “delete forward”) produce the same result.

Daniel’s suggestion did the trick. (Thanks Daniel!)

That said, it’s a bit frustrating having to deselect the Extract function first. Wish it worked as Shane mentioned.

Though marking an in and out with the shortcut and then lifting isn’t bad. Problem is this only works for one clip, not multiple.

I called AJA support. Forgot how good it is and that they take care things fast. Here was their solution, which worked perfectly:

Audio Setting in Premiere Pro CC for Kona 3:

1. Go to Premiere Pro > Preferences > Audio Hardware

Use the following settings:

Adobe Desktop Audio: Built-in Output
Buffersize: 1024
Map Output for: AJA Kona 3 – 0, Slot 3

2. Go to Premiere Pro > Preferences > Playback

Audio Device: AJA Kona 3 – 0, Slot 3

Then, change the audio settings on the Mac

1. Go to Mac OS X Preferences > Sound

For both Output and Input, choose any device EXCEPT AJA Kona 3 (yes, counter intuitive)

That’s it.

Thanks much, handy shortcut!

It seems to me the downside to that though is if you’re trying to paste much farther away in the timeline, it would become difficult to have to drag so far and get the positioning exactly right. Seems like a simple paste command would be the most accurate and efficient. I wonder why Adobe would not include that?

Turns out I didn’t need to move the AMAs offline.

For the next batch, I transcoded the AMA files to MXF. Then I relinked the sequence. I selected “Relink to media from the current project” and also chose the “Video format of the current project” and “Highest Quality”.

I’m not sure which of those specifically did the trick (or maybe all of them) but when I relinked they ignored the AMA files and relinked straight to the transcoded clips (which even had a different name from the original material because of the “.new.01” which had been appended to them by the transcode).

All this without having to go into the Finder and move the AMA files.

And to answer Fred, the AMA files were 1080p/29.97 QT files at Photo-JPEG quality (Artbeats stock footage).
