Just to chime in I’ve got cs5.5 and a quadro 4000 running snow leopard. I have hardware acceleration with no issues after reboot.

Hmmm. For what it’s worth here are my machines specs which I’m thrilled with. The quadro 4000 /cs5.5 takes editing to a new level.

In premiere select the sequence you want… then go to file > dynamic link> send to encore. insert a blank dvd then choose the build tab and hit “build” button. Encore will transcode and burn everything for you. If you want the dvd to loop then you need to select the timeline in the project panel then in the properties panel use the pic whip next to “end action” and pic whip it back to the timeline in the project panel. That will create a loop. Then select the build tab and hit the “build” button.
I’m writing this from memory… I’m 99% sure that is correct. Good luck!

April 2, 2010 at 6:26 pm in reply to: How automated can I make the process of creating a slideshowyou can do the ken burns effect in adobe encore super easy, there are options for random pan and zoom and you can make the slides last the length of an audio track automatically or have the audio loop to the length of the slides. generally Ill create a slide show in encore then render the slides. If you want to do more to the “video slides” just look in the encore rendered folder for the encore project. you can copy the files and bring them into after effects or premiere or whatever.

Here are a couple of other things you might find helpful…
1. Select the audio layer and hit L L. That will give you the wav form.2. To scrub audio in the Timeline panel, Ctrl+Alt-drag (Windows) or Command+Option-drag (Mac OS) the current-time indicator.
3. To scrub audio and video in the Timeline panel, Ctrl-drag (Windows) or Command-drag (Mac OS) the current-time indicator.
Have fun!

Lynda.com has a “class?” on animating characters. …. After Effects CS3: Animating Characters
I just had to do about 5 minutes of character animation for a project and the lynda.com training was helpful. Good Luck!

March 26, 2010 at 5:16 pm in reply to: What is the difference between Multiplexing: DVD and Mulitplexing: NoneAnimation is a lossless codec when set to 100%. I suggested it because it can support alpha channels (if millions of colors+ is selected), it’s 4:4:4, it’s cross platform and any setup with Quicktime installed will be able to work with the file.
Unless you have a workflow issue that requires avi I would stick with the QT format.https://www.anchormedistudio.com

Then compress it in ame if you have cs4.
As long as you have qt installed on your pc you should have that option.
That is the best solution for what you’re wanting.https://www.anchormedistudio.com
