That’s no woman, Dave! But yeah, that’s the first thing I noticed too. Most of that stuff probably wasn’t even red at all.

Not sure why the glow doesn’t do it for you. I would think it’d be perfect for a neon sign. What kind of image are you starting with?

I assume you’re referring to the ipod streaks. Yes, put a white solid behind them. If that for some reason doesn’t work, luma key the black out and do the same.

  • You’ve got nothing to be ashamed of. Nice looking composite. I really like the background and I’m sure you could create that in AE without too much trouble. I also like the film flash at the end. If you wanted to do that in AE Aharon has a tutorial. The little hairs/dust you would have to get from an actual clip of film.

If that guy really drew that energy ball 6 times in photoshop he wasted his time. There are much easier ways of doing that, but like Aharon said, start with the basics before you try anything too crazy.

Looks like a form of cartoonification. Take a look at Aharon’s tutorial and obviously tweak it a lot.

Just a suggestion, if you are not a professional (which I certainly am not)- try something simpler. This effect is not going to be a little plugin that you can apply to some normal video. Especially if you want the kind of dynamic shots they had in that video you are going to need a lot of professional equipment and an amazing special effects person (you). Not to dash your hopes and dreams, but chances are you won’t get a great result without all that stuff I just mentioned. I know I wouldn’t be able to do it as of right now.

Are they in front of a green/blue screen? If so, Aharon has a tutorial on that. Just click his head at the top of the page and scroll down a ways. If not, try one or more of these effects: write-on, vegas, find edges. Write-on would work best in my mind, but you’d have to hand-keyframe the line quite a bit.
