    Danny,

I just finished an edit using the FCP keyer. I had downloaded all sorts of trial software Keyers in preparation for this edit. It seemed that checking out all the other key software made me aware of just what might be possible with FCPs keyer.. And I am very pleased with the results of just using FCP keyer.

In fact I want to take some time and go back into the edit and try some different options with FCP keyer to see if it I can make the keys better yet.. Something tells me that FCP keyer is not expected to be good, so nobody gives it credit. It might not be as intuitive as some of the others. But something tells me it has all the parts necessary to get the job done.

  • Christopher, Your adapter is PC, and there has been a lot of talk over the last couple years about guys like me and you trying to save a buck on buying an adapter for their P2 download..

Not all PC oriented adapters are P2-Mac Usable for various reasons.. If you are using a PC you might get lucky… If you are using a Mac, just buy the Duel adapter.. A little more money but it works..

There is a toggle switch at the front left side. It needs to be toggled off. It is a save button.. When on it saves battery juice or LCD or something..

I keep toggling it (or the crew does) when we put away the camera, so when we get it out of the case and go to shoot, we are always scrambling to remember the magic button

Thanks Jeremy, The answer is yes and no.. The clip after the battery was replaced plays just fine in P2CMS.. The first clip where the battery failed does not play in P2CMS.. it gives you an error message that “”” It is not play back, It was not play back because there was incompleteness in the clip””” (yep that is their english)

Raylight has converted most of the first clips to quicktimes. The first clip seems to be made of a bunch of 19:51 minute segments.. But Raylight has not converted all the segments to .mov wrapped files. There is one that it does not like.

I guess the take away lesson is don’t let your battery run dead… Replace it while you can still stop the recording and shut off the camera..

And the DV mode that I used is definitely not HD… What looked focused is soft. No noise, just too soft. The HPX500 seems easier to focus in 1080 than DV..

“Do you have Software Dev Kit stuff on your system?” Not that I am aware of..

It transferred the HPX 32GB just fine…

Thinking back, the HVX200 did lose a battery towards the end. The battery was replaced and the HVX200 restarted..

Would the possibility of the first clip (pre-battery failure) not having a “last Clip” or something like that file be the problem… if so what is the solution..

    Thanks for the thoughts Shane

  • “well fed and over-payed top executives” and they are calling in sick at their major yearly sales event…

They must have got their ‘bailout’ already…..

Are they hiring …. I could use a job that is over paid and I don’t have to show up….

2 points for trying…. but this is a tough crowd

  • Jan,, Thanks for the follow thru.. You are awesome as usual. You have encouraged me to revisit your PCD-35, with your solution to hook up our MacBook Pro.

Next month will be one year with your HPX500. A great purchase,as was our HVX200…thanks

  • Helmut call Caldigit and ask about their HDone extraPCIe port…

I need a bigger raid 5 and had looked at the PCD35, but nixed it due to Mac space,,,,,

And if they could share the same card…. that would be so cool….

Jan, Jan,,, Your buddy over at Caldigit might lend you a couple HDone raids for your NAB counter..

Now that would be some HOT collaborative economic savvy engineering…

Yep Matthew,, You have been lucky.. Under the fluorescents with the instant starts /digital ballast or what ever they have you will be ok with the CMOS chips… But if you happen to have the CEO of a major nation insurance company like Nationwide,on location, being interviewed by the local favorite anchor on the CBS affiliate and the lighting is strobing, rolling down the screen… What do you tell the Boss.. It is a new camera?? I spent 10k on the camera? It is all in your eyes. Go get your glasses fixed..

I am a poor boy. I can’t afford to explain other peoples bad engineering…

No excuse video is what I target..
