Thanks guys. They both seem cool, but with different features.

I presume they both use h264 to compress?

    You’re on to me Stephen!!!

Free is always nice, but actually, the search for free stuff has usually led to a lot of wasted energy. Thanks for the great article you posted. I’ll definitely check those things out.

Thanks, John, I’ll check out Sonicfire, I had heard of it, but didn’t realize it came with samples as well. Good to know someone likes them.

Well, we can’t expect software engineers to stick to LOGIC!

    That would be too logical.

    Wow, like magic!

I don’t remember having to set that before, but then again, it’s been awhile.

Why is it set to 4 by default?

    Thanks

Hate to state what may be obvious, but I was really frustrated in the timeline until I discovered:
    Shift+L (toggles linking)
    &
N (toggles snapping, which can also be used as a temp toggle while in the midst of an operation)

Still, if you are still used to another program, there is nothing that can remedy that except time.

    I think that’ll do.

Just going on your “make it in FCP” recommendation, is there a way to export the timeline with transparency layers? I’m not getting the contrast I want when importing into Motion. I can alter the opacity of the object, but again, it’s not quite going right yet.
    Thanks

    Thanks Stephen,
That is what I ended up doing, but I lack some control over the object(ie: it’s not vector based, etc.). It would be preferable if it could be done in Motion. At least the way I have approached it.

    Any ideas?
