A/V sync issues after Trashing Prefs
I just trashed my preferences and since then I have been having problems with playback sync.
The video is lagging about 2 frames behind the audio.I have rendered sequences and just tried playing the imported footage sans fx. I have reduced the playback to half quality and framerate.
Could I have set a system setting different than previously?
I have fixed this problem once or twice before by rebooting. However, that does not seem to work this time.
BTW, the raw footage as well as the sequence exports play in sync using Quicktime.
I’ve been using this machine for about 8 months and have not had these issues. No hardware changes. It all seems to be a result of trashing preferences (and perhaps not setting them up exactly as i had them before).
Any ideas on how to fix?

Change the frame offset from 4 to 0.

I don’t remember having to set that before, but then again, it’s been awhile.
Why is it set to 4 by default?

I think someone up in Cupertino was taking Qualuudes… There’s no other explanation for it.
But then, there’s also the question, why in all these years haven’t they changed the default to “0” since they clearly must know by now that “4” is wrong?

Well, we can’t expect software engineers to stick to LOGIC!
That would be too logical.
